Betsy offers poetry workshops for secondary students and adults on a range of topics that can be tailored for beginner to advanced skill sets.
With a background in Secondary English teaching, Betsy brings a considered approach to students and their learning. Betsy is especially interested in giving new writers the tools to find their voice and hone their craft.
“Betsy’s workshop was an engaging and interactive opportunity for students to develop a greater use and understanding of poetic techniques and poetry itself. As a former high school teacher, Betsy understood the nature of teaching poetry to adolescents, and her activities and explanations elucidated a number of misconceptions teenagers have of poetry. The activities were interesting, engaging and easily transferable to other classrooms. All students and teachers appreciated Betsy’s expertise and ideas.”
